Objectives

The selection of "The PCAA Outstanding High School Graduate(s)" recognizes exceptional students within the PCAA
community for their outstanding academic performance, extracurricular accomplishments, proficiency in Chinese
language, and dedication to community service. Additionally, through this evaluation process, the Scholarship
Committee may confer special achievement awards to other qualified candidates who, while not selected as
"The PCAA Outstanding High School Graduate", have demonstrated exceptional achievements deserving of recognition
by the PCAA.

By publicly honoring our students at events such as high school graduations, awards ceremonies, and through features
in local newspapers and social media, the Peninsula Chinese-American Association (PCAA) will strengthen its reputation as a valued
contributor to the community, reflecting our commitment to education, cultural enrichment, and community engagement.
Minimum Requirments

A graduating high school senior whose parents or legal guardians are Peninsula** residents and active PCAA members
for the last three years (including current year). (**: The Peninsula region includes Hampton, Newport News, York County, Poquoson,
Williamsburg, and the surrounding areas.)
- The applicant must have a cumulative GPA that places them within the top 20% of their high school class.
- A SAT score of 1200 or higher, or a ACT score of 25 or higher
- 40 hours of community service for the whole high school years
Procedures
- An official high school transcript must be submitted with the application.
- An official SAT or ACT (or both) score reports are required.
- Write an essay about one of the given topics (see details in the application form).

Applicants are encouraged to include Advanced Placement (AP) score reports and any other relevant academic or
extracurricular recognitions.

Complete the PCAA Outstanding High School Graduate Award Application Form online
and submit it with other supplement documents no later than April 30, .
Deadline
Condition to receive the scholarship

Attendance at the PCAA Annual Award Ceremony is mandatory for the recipient of this scholarship. Failure to attend will result in
forfeiture of the scholarship, except in cases of special exemption, such as travel abroad, health issues, or participation in a
competition. In such cases, PCAA will honor the recipient with a certificate of recognition and a commemorative plaque.
